Generation X

Born between 1961 and 1975, digital technologies emerged during their formative years. Originally known as slackers – today many are busy juggling kids, work, aging parents and paying off a mortgage.

I’m Sarah, Gen X, and here to tell you that there are not enough hours in the day.

I’m flat out juggling my work and personal life and it wouldn’t be possible to do that with my trusty mobile phone. I’m using it right now to scope out the latest goss on the Women’s Weekly app, answer emails and plan a relaxing holiday in Bali. Have you been to Canggu? It’s the best. I know the top travel spots and my friends often hit me up for tips. I find it hard to switch off from work so a week by the pool is mandatory. That and a regular trip to the spa.

On the weekends

On the weekends, you’ll find me making my weekly pilgrimage to Bunnings or working in the garden. I’ve usually got a couple of projects on the go such as my vertical garden. And there’s a table I’m restoring.

It'll only cost you a glass of wine

Chances are a trip to Myer or David Jones is also on the cards and I can’t go past popping into a boutique or two while I’m at it. I’m in the market for some new work attire right now, but then again, when am I not? When it comes to shopping, I’m also a bit of a car expert. You should talk to me if you don’t know a Barina from a BMW. It’ll only cost you a glass of wine.

I'm up for some home cooking

I love to eat out – that’s my other speciality, knowing the best new places in my area to go. I’m also up for some home cooking and I do a mean Spag Boll. I won't buy genetically modified food if I can help it. When it comes to trying new brands in the supermarket, out of all of my friends, I’m the early adopter in the group. Bauer’s Food to Love network certainly gives me plenty of meal ideas to get started in that department.
